I spent about two hours last night writing my first post…only to find out this morning, that I don’t think it actually posted!!! Isn’t that annoying???? Oh well I suppose its for the better. I went off on a bit of a rant.
So I’ll Just tell you a bit about myself… First of all, Hello Everyone… or anyone.
My Name is Mirella Rosaria. Most people call me Ella, or Ella Rose for a totally abbreviated version. I love my name. It was my grandmother’s. I look like her, and was named after her from birth. I have light eyes, pale skin with freckles and light hair. SO light some people call it blond even though I call it “hair coloured hair” (to quote my favourite Madeline L’Engle book). Needless to say I look nothing like my twin sister, who has dark hair, skin and eyes just like the rest of my family. I live in New York, just a 45 min metro ride from Grand Central Station. But despite that both my parents have Mediterranean backgrounds. My father is Italian, and moved to New York city when he was young, though he would spend the entire summer back in Italy and whenever else he could. He met my mom, a Greek Canadian living in Montreal when they were both going to University in Vermont. They moved to the Suburbs when they got married, wanting my brothers and sister and I to have a child’s life.
Anyways so a bit more about myself:
- I am 16 years old
- your not so common teenager
- LOVE :
- BOOKS
- DANCING
- MUSIC (making or listening :P)
- ART (photography, paint, charcoal, pastel, and as of most recently engraving)
- WRITING
That said, I write anything from poems to short stories… maybe I’ll post some here sometimes to get some objective feedback. I also dance any style, though most people forget that and think I just do Ballet and Jazz. I also play instruments… well violin mostly though I used to play piano, flute and drums as well (see I forgot that in the last one…). As for art… Well I take photographs, but so does most people now adays… Therefore I also sketch, paint, draw in detail, use pastels, and make engravings which i can then copy using a printing press… That last one was newly discovered by me and I LOVE IT!!! I never knew I would like it so much… but i get to involve drawing, with ink with paint… because there is nothing like working back into a print with water colour or oil paint…
So now, item de jour…
I had intended this blog to be a creative outlet, for me and you readers alike. We can share poems… story ideas, even art work if anyone wants to scan… talk about our favourite songs from all styles of music… but I also thought… since I bake a lot! y’all might like a few recipes…
So today, since life gave me lemons with this post… Im making lemon squares. Will get the recipe for you all later. And if anyone ever wants a recipe for something in particular, let me know in comments and I’ll see what I can find!!!
cheerio world!

I hope you find the posts interesting. that was my biggest worry, that no one would care about what i had to say or find my views interesting, but as the number pf views and comments go up (thank you annika) those worries are dissipating fast.

Thank you, Ivonne.
Sometimes being… abnormal can being really annoying and cause a lot of greif. But I think I would be really unhappy if I were normal. I’d miss out on all the things that make me me and that I love!
Thank you for the support. Things have been kinda up in the air and hectic lately so I haven’t had much time to write a proper post… I feel really bad starting one and then leaving it and coming back. Posts should be unofficial (in my point of view) and kinda like stream of concious thought. Letting someone into your mind more or less. But today is Sunday, Hopefully I’ll find the time to write one of my classically long entries. (I find it difficult to write something that isn’t long- another curse. ) 😀

You remind me of myself when I was 16–more thoughtful than her peers and wanting to take action in this world!
Thank you for your thoughtful comments on my blog. You will do great things!
Best to you,
Brenda

Thank you Brenda. Its good to know I’m not so strange.
Thank you for the reassurance, I hope to do something at least. My aim (which sets my mother laughing) is to simply leave a foot print on this earth, that isn’t carbon.
My pleasure to write the comment. People need to get thinking. And I loved the article. So endearing yet to the point. I think it was really forceful and helped a lot of people realize how bad things are down there
Best wishes,
Mirella

Hi Mirella 🙂
Yay, Madeleine L’Engle! I used to love her books! 😀 Well, now I just remember them fondly. 😛 I haven’t read one in years. Which one was your favorite? I only read the Time Quartet series.
I would like to see your creations 🙂 Keep it up!!

You have no idea how much I hate that I only have two of her books! I got them a long time ago from a family friend. My mother had never read them, and so we didn’t know if they would be good. So now that I finally read them, and love her work, I can’t find any more of her books to buy. I would like to have them so my children can read them too! They were so wonderful… I read “A Wrinkle in Time” and “A Ring of Endless Light”. I think only “A Wrinkle in Time” Is from the Time Quartet, right? I loved them both, but “A ring…” resonated more with me due to the Dolphins. And there were some philosophies and such in it that I had thought of before and it really made me think… unlike some of the mindless books published now adays… (I feel so old :P) But that book was amaizing! I love how simple yet Deep and philosophical and … just BRILIANT her writing is! If I could write a book half as well I would be pleased and consider my job on this earth done… (well not quite I have a few more goals like tackling world peace, hunger, poverty, cruelty towards animals and children that would still be unchecked :P)
